2008 Highlights : BRUNEI SCOUTS' VISIT TO SABAH
A group of 40 Scouts from Troop 3040 Kg. Sungai Liang, Belait District, Brunei Darussalam was celebrated in a simple but warm welcoming dinner hosted by Sabah Scouts on 14th December 2008 at Sabah Scouts' Headquarters, Kota Kinabalu.
The visiting troop which was lead by Belait District Scout Commissioner, Tuan Haji Salleh Haji Ahmad arrived in Kota Kinabalu on 11th December 2008 and continued their travel to Sandakan and Lahad Datu where they were greeted by local scout leaders before returning to Kota Kinabalu.
Almost half of the delegation were non-uniformed family members whom will be soon registered under a new 3050 Open Scout troop.
In his welcoming speech, Mr. Philip Chin (Asst. State Chief Scout Commissioner of Sabah) whom represented the State Chief Commissioner regarded that the dinner served on the table is secondary to the main objective of the visit which was to express the scouting brotherhood among fellow regional scouts. He also challenged Sabah Rover Scouts whom were present to reciprocate the visit in the nearest future.
20 Sabah Rover Scouts from Kota Kinabalu and Sembulan district attended and assisted in the preparational works for the dinner.
